
Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar – a dynamic leader was a a scholar of religion and philosophy. Ambedkar in his own life struggled against the existing caste system. He is the architect of Indian society. His real name was Bhim Rao. He was born on 14th April 1891. His birthday is celebrated as Ambedkar Jayanti all over India.
Dr.Bhim Rao Ambedkar- a dynamic leader was not only a great citizen of India but also of the world. He was a great reformer and advocate of human rights. For his contribution, he was known as the “Manu” of modern India.
He passed a law from the London School Of economics. After coming to India he practiced law. He was a great thinker. He had in-depth knowledge of modern western society concerning science, economics, and law. He had great sympathy for untouchables. He raised a voice against their discrimination in society. He published ” Mook Nayak” magazine to create awareness among the poor and illiterate people in the country.
Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar was a versatile personality and worked in the areas of economics, politics, religion, history, culture, literature, and business. Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar – a dynamic leader has proved his excellence in all spheres.
Baba Bhim Rao Ambedkar worked relentlessly to uplift the status of Dalits. He organized protests like “Manu Smriti Dahan, Mahad Satyagraha, Nasik Satyagraha, Yevla Ke Garjana to safeguard the interests of the Dalits, Dalit tribals. He ran movements to stop untouchability and wrong practices of restricting the lower class to enter temples.
In that era, scheduled tribes and scheduled caste were exploited due to illiteracy and casteism. To remove them from oppression, Dr. Bhim Rao initiated reservations for them. He published several magazines to make them know their rights and worked hard to solve their problems. He also made hostels for the weaker section of society and uplifted them from narrowmindedness and superstition. He reduced the working hours of the laborer’s from 12 -8 and also granted them equal rights for equal pay them. The workers were also able to enjoy proper leaves, medical benefits, and health security in the form of life insurance and accidental insurance. Not only this, he struggled throughout his life to grant rights to women related to divorce and property rights. He tried to improve their condition by providing them equality.
The People Education committed was formed under the craftsmanship of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar. Under this committee, he started the Siddhartha college in Mumbai and a group of many other colleges. These colleges are today also making a name in the field of education.
Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar was a promoter and follower of the Buddhist religion. In a world Buddhist conference, he achieved the honor of Nav Buddha. And wrote on “ Buddha and Dhamma”.
Farmers were greatly benefited by the efforts of Bhim Rao Ambedkar. He helped the farmers to increase their income through cooperative farming and irrigation. During his tenure advancement took place in the country. Several rivers were joined with the drains and economic and water policy was framed. He paved the way for the construction of the Hirakund dam and Damodar Khati dam.
For the development of India Dr. Bhim Rao raid a strong technical foundation and presented a frame of the network. He worked towards the development of water management and proper cultivation of natural resources.
After many years of slavery, the Indian constitution was framed by Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar n the grounds of liberty, equality, and fraternity making the Indian citizens realize the importance of our great culture. These ideas coined by him had an impact on his political and social philosophy of life. Article 14-18 in the constitution is based on the basic right of equality. Article 19-24 is based on the right of liberty. Articles 23-24 is the article against exploitation in the Indian constitution In articles 25-28 religious freedom is granted. Article (19) (2) is based on freedom of expression for any particular caste, class, and community.
Under our constitution the country’s security, sovereignty and integrity cannot be lost and for its protection, if there is any law there should not be any hindrance to it.
In the whole world’s constitution, it is only in the Indian constitution that such a vivid interpretation of the basic right is done.
Dr. Bhim Rao played a different role as a social worker, teacher, lawyer, administrator, journalist, politician, thinker, and philosopher and served the society and country with his excellence leaving a lasting impression. For his dedication, he was awarded as Bharat Ratna by the government of India.
Dr. Bhim Rao’s real struggle is bearing its fruits in modern India. India is now much united and enjoys unity in diversity. Today we not only find social harmony but equality for all classes of people. India is now powerful in terms of economics, trade, industry, and employment and developing fast in the field of education, health, cleanliness, and security. Earlier India was looked down upon for its poverty but is now popular in the entire world for its federal structure and strong democracy.
Today we are celebrating the 130th birth anniversary of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar – a dynamic leader.. On this occasion, if India wants to pay true tribute to him she should make earnest efforts to inculcate the thoughts of Baba Bhim Rao Ambedkar in the new generation so that his dreams are flourished.
